Steam’s new free game is a surprise 10/10, and you definitely missed it

I don't get it either

If you've been following us for a while you'll know that new free games drop on Steam all the time.

We typically tend to round up these free games whenever we can, and while they're not always guaranteed bangers, there's the chance you'll find something to enjoy outside of the usual Assassin's Creeds and Call Of Dutys.

However, there's one free game that hit Steam earlier this week that deserves a special shout-out, because it's absolutely blowing up right now - but may well still be flying just under your radar.

The game is ENA: Dream BBQ, an utterly bizarre single-player adventure that honestly defies explanation. If you're at all familiar with the equally unhinged YouTube series, you'll have some idea of what to expect.

The most notable thing about this seemingly unhinged game is that people love it. Out of nearly 15,000 reviews on Steam, 98 percent are positive. What is about this strange adventure that has connected with people?

Let's take a look at some reviews, shall we?

"Absolute peak experience ever. Everything else in this rotten world has fallen off, by comparison."

"Dream BBQ is the most visually striking and charming game i've played in a while. Simple and sometimes a little tedious gameplay is made up for with the overwhelming amount of secrets and interesting things to find. If you're nosy then every playthrough is different from the last and the whole thing doesn't even cost a cent."

"You don’t need to watch the series to get the game—honestly, you don’t even need to watch the series to get the series. Not like anyone truly understands it anyway."

So there you have it. One of the best games of the year so far is completely free to download and play right now - don't waste any more time.
