Steam has dropped a ton of free playable demos that you can download and play right now as well as offering massive discounts but you need to act fast to avoid missing out.

Keeping on top of our favourite hobby of playing video games is never cheap, so if we can not only save a few quid but also play free games on our Steam wishlist before coughing up the cash, it’s always a nice bonus to have.

Check out the Mirthwood trailer below!

Right now, Steam is hosting the SimFest promotion and as the name suggests, it’s all about simulation games that can keep us immersed and entertained for countless hours. However, the promotion ends soon on 29 July 2024, so if you want to check out some free PC demos or claim some discounts, you need to check out what’s on offer before it’s too late.

Here are six free sim playable demos that you can download right now:

  • Mirthwood: “Embark on an enchanting journey and brave ferocious creatures in an immersive mediaeval fantasy world. Will you settle a new homestead to live a life of farming and trade, or pick up the sword and take up the adventurers' path?”
  • Adapt: “To survive, you must guide your species through a constantly changing world. Compete with strange creatures for food and territory, and find your niche through careful evolutionary choices.”
  • Tavern Keeper: “Build and manage your own tavern in this charming fantasy business sim. Dive into every detail or relax and decorate to your heart's desire.”
  • Tranquil Isle: “is a lo-fi town building roguelite. Grow your settlements on idyllic islands, managing resources and upgrades – or chill out and build with no restrictions in sandbox mode.”
  • The Deadly Path: “Aid the Deities of Dread in their quest for vengeance and pave the way for their ascension. Gather grim materials, construct defences and expand the underworld to appease the rage of the gods in The Deadly Path, a unique building management and roguelike strategy game.”
  • Gourdlets: “An easygoing sandbox game about building towns for cute vegetable folks. Create your perfect community then watch as the gourdlets make themselves at home.”

So, there you have it, those are just six games that you can play for free right now, hopefully, one of the above or the many games included in the SimFest promotion will tickle your fancy.
