We’re used to reporting on division in fandoms, so it’s a welcome change to see fans harmoniously in agreement for once.

And it’s all thanks to this Steam freebie.

In saying that it’s a free download, it should already be abundantly clear that this is in reference to a demo and not a full release.

You won’t be sad about this for long, assuming you are in the first place.

The free download is for Dynasty Warriors: Origins.

Check out the gameplay features of the upcoming Dynasty Warriors: Origins.

Its demo, which is only available to PC users, is an enhanced version of the Battle of Sishui Gate that’s been showcased at previews of the “exhilarating” adventure.

Despite it covering somewhat familiar ground, the feedback is very positive.

User Cecil commented, “This demo is all I wanted and more from a new Dynasty Warriors game demo.”

“The graphics compared to the older games are definitely a step up but not groundbreaking, the combat is fluid and feels amazing, animations look really good, and the scale once again is amazing as it is in every Dynasty Warriors game.”

But one satisfied customer doesn’t mean much, so let’s take a look at another review left on Valve’s gaming platform.

“Played the demo, [and] cannot wait for the release date. Really nice to play [...] loving the graphics and story, looking forward to the full game,” shared donnell.robinson41.

You won’t have to wait long between playing the demo and the full game because Dynasty Warriors: Origins launches on 17 January 2025.

GAMINGbible's Sam Cawley described it as a “hack-and-slash blast”, so expect intense entertainment as you fight your way through the hordes.

Make sure you don’t deny yourself free access to a stunning game just because you believe it's doomed to fail or not your cup of tea.

You might be surprised just how much you love this “smooth” experience.
