breaking news

We could probably all expect it to happen but now it officially has.

Although Kickstarter backers would have already received their codes, many of us had to rely on going to purchase and download the games on our chosen platform.
However, for those wanting to dive into Hollow Knight: Silksong on PC via Steam, you may be waiting a while longer as fans reveal that the launcher is currently down.
“Did Silksong break Steam?” One person asked alongside a screenshot of the Steam outages reported in the last 24 hours.
As you can see from the graph, there is currently a massive spike in outages and although it has not been confirmed what has caused it, we can safely assume it is the launch of one of 2025’s most anticipated games.

“Lmao, I've been refreshing for 10 minutes now but Steam is still down,” another user added alongside a screenshot of a broken Steam store page.
“This game is gonna be more massive than any of us thought.”
However, another user summed it up perfectly when they said, “The wait continues…”
It has indeed been a long wait for Hollow Knight: Silksong but with developers Team Cherry claiming this is purely because it was having so much fun making the game, we can forgive them.

Now the wait is finally over.
Well maybe.
Hollow Knight: Silksong is now available worldwide on Nintendo Switch 1&2, PlayStation 4&5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
Well, the latter is dependent on if Steam fixes itself but in the meantime, the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation and Xbox stores seem to be unaffected at the time of writing.
