Steam’s brand-new free game will take hours of your life

Hours, and hours, and hours...

Steam users have another endless game to play like Balatro and Vampire Survivors; put some time aside for it.

It’s amazing what you can do with a small-scale game with a satisfying gameplay loop. It’s why titles like Balatro have done so well in terms of both sales and awards.

Balatro is now available as a PlayStation Plus game so if you haven’t played it yet, get on it.

Now there’s a new game with a similar vibe on Steam called Sirocco, and it’s about endlessly blowing up naval vessels.

Its description reads: “MOBA meets Vampire Survivors in a dynamic 5v5 arena inspired by the legendary Warcraft 3 mod: Battleships. Rally your team as you swap abilities mid-match, load up auto-firing weapons, and craft strategies on the fly. No rules — just fun.”

The gameplay featured on the Steam page looks pretty fun, and there’s loads of customisation in terms of what your ship looks like and what weapons are attached to it.

If you’re still sceptical, take a look at the Mostly Positive reviews, which give us a good idea of how fun the game actually is.

“This is the first MOBA style game outside of DOTA where I've sat and played all day without realising it. Many of the elements feel like a breath of fresh air in the genre. I recommend trying it,” read one review.

Another said, “I am a long term MOBA player (mostly League unfortunately) and I confidently give this game my seal of approval. I want this game to pop off because I’m so interested to see how the meta would develop.”

Sirocco is free on Steam right now and it’s clearly a popular game already, so you might as well give it a go for yourself in case it becomes the next big thing.
