Steam adds 4 new free games, yours to keep forever

Another weekend's entertainment sorted

As I’m sure you’re aware by now, Steam is the place to go if you’re looking to game on a budget on PC.

The popular storefront is jam-packed full with free-to-play titles, many of which are delightful indies that may pass you by unless brought to your attention.

Well, guess what I’m here for.

As reported by SteamGamesPC, an additional four free games have now landed on the service and I’m here to guide you through them.

I’ll begin with Blight’s Grasp, a new action-adventure title from Chrono Clash.

I say action-adventure, but it also combines beat em’ up and hack n’ slash elements.

You’ll journey through a foreign planet as you attempt to find your sister and “a cure for this corrupted world”.

Advert

“Fight through waves of enemies using a combination of this world's elements. Will you be able to piece together a solution or will it already be too late?” the description asks.

It’s played from a third-person perspective and while it does focus on melee combat, there are ranged attacks you can take advantage of too.

Oh, and it’s already achieved a ‘Positive’ review score.

DOOM: The Dark Ages just launched on Xbox and PC, including on Game Pass.

Let’s move on to I Hate Orcs: In My Garden, a cross between an action game and a platformer.

Advert

You’ll essentially speed your way around a garden, avoiding and killing the orcs firing projectiles at you.

It’s a simple premise, certainly, but it’s also the type of repetitive gameplay loop I’m imagining you could easily sink a couple of hours into.

For the puzzle fans amongst you, there’s Pick Up Your Masks.

This is another title with a rather simple premise; you’ll essentially drop hygiene masks aiming to land them in trash cans.

Mimi, an adorable cat, has collected these from litterers who have left them on the floor and is attempting to help clean up after humans.

There are only 24 levels, but this is a nice little reminder of the importance of cleaning up after ourselves.

Finally, I bring you Diplomacy is Not an Option: Shareware which is essentially a free prequel to Diplomacy Is Not an Option.

“In a medieval fantasy world, you are to build settlements, raise huge armies, and defend against massive hordes of enemies. Learn how Ironbrow clan shaped the world's map the first time - if you survive, that is,” the description reads.

Advert

With a ‘Very Positive’ rating, it looks as if I’ve saved the best until last.

This one’s a colony sim, RTS, and tower defence hybrid; there are two story missions to enjoy as well as an Endless Mode exclusive map.

All of the above titles are available to enjoy now.
