If you’re on the lookout to play some free Steam games to help pass the time, then look no further.

Keeping on top of newly released video games is not only time-consuming, especially for those with active families, but it can also be quite a financial burden. That being said, nothing helps to distract us from our worldly woes quite like our beloved video games.

Subscription services such as Xbox Game Pass and PlayStation Plus can be great ways to save money, with potentially hundreds of video games at our instant disposal for a reasonable fee.

However, it can be nice to play a video game that won't cost us a penny, whether it’s a demo for an upcoming release or a free full game for a potential indie darling.

With that in mind, as brought to our attention by the Twitter account, ‘Free Steam Games’ (of the four listed below), here are five titles that you can download today and keep forever:

  • Truck World: Australia - First Haul: “Become a truckie in the heart of Australia! Brave the scorching desert, conquer a sandstorm and support the local industry by delivering vital cargo across the continent’s treacherous terrain.
  • Apocalypse Island: “As an ex-scientist on a mission, you find yourself on a toxic and infected island, where humans are nowhere to be seen. Build, explore and survive.”
  • Spectacle - Worlds Unseen: “Change your surroundings in the blink of an eye. Wield powerful glasses that let you see and interact with the world in new ways. Spectacle is a surreal first-person puzzle game about observation, spatial reasoning, and lizards.”
  • Highway Hopper: “Is a fast-paced 2D pixel art platformer where you jump over guardrails along an endless highway. Dodge cars, signs, aeroplanes, and buildings, collect points, and beat your high score! With simple controls, stylish retro design, and an engaging flow, every jump is a little thrill.”
  • Molehill Empire 2: “You’re an enthusiastic hobby gardener, you can tell apples from oranges, you like your harden, and you love growing vegetables and more? Then team up with the cute and quirky gnomes of Molehill Empire 2 on your way from a self-sufficient gardener to an international supplier of sustainable and organic products.”

So, there you have it, hopefully, at least one of the above will be your cup of tea.
