It’s Thursday, which means the weekend is almost upon us.

What will you be playing? Kingdom Come Deliverance II continues to prove popular, but Avowed and Lost Records: Bloom & Rage are also worthy contenders for your attention.

Of course, new releases aren’t cheap.

If you’re looking for something that won’t break the bank, you may want to wander over to Steam where four new free releases await you.

As always, thank you to SteamGamesPC for bringing these to our attention.

Let’s begin with Cubey Quarry, produced by developer Jorran which is one I’m imagining will most appeal to Minecraft fans.

In this self-proclaimed “small game”, players will be tasked with building a quarry which they can do either alone or with friends.

“Mine ores, smelt or grind, [and] get money,” the synopsis teases. “It’s a perfect game to have running in the background.”

Already it’s secured a ‘Positive’ rating on Steam, with 89% of the reviews reflecting that sentiment; many praised its simple but entertaining nature.

The aforementioned Lost Records: Bloom & Rage is available via PlayStation Plus’ extra tier.

If you prefer roguelikes, perhaps I can tempt you with Last Spirit Origin.

This one comes from developer Danil Koliada, and you can play it solo or with up to four players.

“Crash-land on your former home, now an alien-infested world, and battle relentless machine foes,” the synopsis teases.

“Combine loot to power up and master each character. Use sharp combat and smart strategy to conquer the chaos.”

A few of the UI elements were made with the help of AI in this one, according to Steam’s AI disclosure, which may be worth keeping in mind depending on your stance.

If platformers are more your thing then Stay Alive may be up your alley although I’ll warn you now, it has a rather dark premise.

“A deep web community celebrates Halloween with a live broadcast. Girls are kidnapped and forced to navigate a scenario full of deadly traps for the viewer's entertainment,” reads the rather dark synopsis.

You’ll be pleased to know that the game’s visuals aren’t as macabre as that description suggests but there are still plenty of deadly blades hoping to chop your head off.

Finally, there’s Apocalypse Island from developer Bettini Games which is a post-apocalyptic survival title.

You’ll assume the role of an ex-scientist who finds themself on an island full of infected individuals.

Your goal is simple: build, explore, and survive.

All of the above titles are available to enjoy for free now.
