Steam quietly drops 4 free games, yours to keep forever

Steamy freebies

Perhaps you’ve been filling your Steam library thanks to the latest sale, adding in countless games to your backlog.

Well, I’m here to tell you about four free games, that will top up that total and give you even more to play. So, boot up Steam, and grab these titles now.

Grab some freebies to play on your Steam Deck

First up, we’ve got Death to the Universe: Act I, which is a gorgeous 3D platformer just dripping in style.

You play as Death, who uses a hookshot to zip between platforms, making death-defying leaps, and traversing a surreal world.

With stark red backgrounds, and select use of colour elsewhere, this one looks lovely. Death is also voiced by Kevin Miller, who played Sly Cooper.

Next, there’s Wasteland Rangers - a fast-paced shooter set in an apocalyptic world.

Players can choose from several classes and fight together via “dynamic” gameplay, including destructible environments.

Find 100 Ducks and Blast Them! is next on your list, and I’d think the title tells all, but let’s dive into the game anyway.

This is a hide-and-seek style game, where you’ll be exploring a neighbourhood looking for little plastic ducks. Once you find them, you shoot them. It’s pretty simple.

This might be a nice way to pass the time, and it looks pretty adorable - perhaps a great one for younger players.

Lastly, there’s Gumballs & Dungeons, a roguelike dungeon-crawler that is making the jump from mobile to PC, in a free-to-play adventure.

With hundreds of gumball characters to unlock, and the removal of in-game purchases, this game has lots of replayability and engaging gameplay loops.

Already played by over 25 million people on mobile, this is a chance for PC players to experience the game.

That’s all we’ve got for this week. Head on over to Steam to grab these four games, and check out the sale while you’re there.
