Make sure you nab these before 10 March

Three freebies (threebies?) are currently up for offer on Steam, but you’ve only got until the end of their latest Steam Fest to claim them.

To celebrate the current Visual Novel Fest on Steam, Valve is giving away three free items to help customise your profile.

There are two animated avatars up for grabs, as well as one animated “Dialogue Box” avatar frame - all three of which will not cost you a single Steam Point.

The two characters in the animated avatars look to be original creations by Valve, at least from what I can tell anyway, and I gotta say, the fella with the blue hair looks dashing. Positively rouge-like. Well, visual novel-like if we’re talking about the genre but… you get my point.

Speaking of, I’ve not played a lot of visual novels myself. It’s a genre I don’t have much familiarity with, alongside sports simulators and actual sports games… actually I think maybe I just hate sports now that I think about it.

However, I’m gonna take the dive on a few of the games in the Visual Novel Fest, so here are some options for you if you wanna snag some stuff in the sale.

Emio - The Smiling Man is a great title if you have a Nintendo Switch.

First up, Milk inside a bag of milk inside a bag of milk. Before you ask, yes that’s what the game is actually called.

I’ve heard great things about this one and its sequel, Milk outside a bag of milk outside a bag of milk, and they both cost about £2 combined so, I’m gonna take the plunge.

Next up, Am I Nima. The demo for this one is actually pretty new, having dropped back at the end of February, and a friend of mine said they really enjoyed it. Looks creepy and weird so, I’m game.

Definitely gonna be rocking that profile pic of the dude with the cool blue hair though. I wonder if he has a name? If not, I’m gonna call him Cool Original Flavoured Doritos from now on.
