If you were after a charming and wholesome game, then look no further than this indie delight that can be described as Stardew Valley meets Pokémon.
If we can successfully blend the worlds of the poster child of indie games, Stardew Valley and the cross-media global sensation that is Pokémon, then the chances are that we could be on to a winner. One such game could be the upcoming, Whimside.

Developed and published by indie studio, Toadzillart, Whimside: is “a cosy and relaxing collection game that sits at the bottom of your screen, allowing you to explore it at your own pace, whether you're working, studying, or just watching videos,” reads the description on Steam.
“Embark on a journey through enchanting worlds, each filled with unique creatures and hidden secrets. Capture and create new species of Whimlings, then unleash your creativity by decorating your very whimsical space.”

Gamers on social media were quick to pile on the praise for Whimside. “Sooooo cute and cosy,” tweeted RhapsPerhaps. “Loved the new trailer! It looks beautiful!” said Marco_Elz. “I want this game so bad, this is amazing,” said little.3870 on YouTube.
It does look like Whimside has tons of potential to be one of the next most popular games of the casual sim genre. Whether it manages to fulfil its potential is another matter altogether. Only time will tell.
At the time of writing, Whimside does not have a release date but be sure to wishlist it on Steam to be notified of when it's set to launch.
