If you’re a fan of Stardew Valley then you’re likely a fan of the farming, cosy genre, which has exploded over the past few years.

You may have come to an endpoint with Stardew Valley and are wondering what’s next for you to play.

Stardew Valley set the standard but the genre of cosy farming is going from strength to strength

Well, one game is speeding up the Steam charts and is loved by fans of the genre. Fields of Mistria is another game of farming, socialising, and harvesting.

As a spiritual successor to the late 1990s farming sim games such as Harvest Moon, Fields of Mistria lets you create a character and live out a lovely, laidback life.

The aim is to revitalise the town and you do that by farming, mining, and crafting, plus getting to know the villagers.

With lots of animals to tend to, places to explore, and monsters to battle, you definitely won’t run out of things to do.

You can expect to put in hundreds of hours and the game isn’t even finished yet as its part of Steam’s early access program.

Of course, there are lots of options for dating and building relationships, along with places to explore. And it’s all delivered via gorgeous old-school visuals and an epic soundtrack.

Steam users love Fields of Mistria and it’s currently sitting on an ‘Overwhelmingly Positive’ rating.

Steam user h0n3yt00th says “I've been playing non-stop ever since I got it and I'm sure I'll be playing it much, much more.”

While PraxiBee calls it “An ADORABLE addition to the genre!” in their Steam review.

This seems to be a big hit for NPC Studio and if things continue we could see another megahit for the genre as the game gets updated.

We love this hyperbolic review from LittleMissCaroth who says “This game is perfect and I will die protecting it.” That’s quite the endorsement.
