If you’re a fan of Skyrim and Valheim, then you might want to check out this new, upcoming survival RPG.
Both The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and Valheim are heavily inspired by Norse mythology, despite offering somewhat different gaming experiences.
The fantasy RPG, Skyrim, is all about epic single-player adventures in Tamriel, whether you’re embarking on story missions, treasure hunting or looking for mythical creatures to battle.

Whereas Valheim is a multiplayer survival game (can be played solo) filled with dangerous creatures and humans who would like nothing more than to tear down the house that you’ve spent hours building.
However, with Bethesda’s Skyrim originally releasing in 2011 and Valheim in 2021, fantasy RPG adventurers may be on the lookout for a new world to explore. If that’s you, then Among the Trolls, developed by Avantgarden, might pique your interest.
“Step into Anna’s shoes as she travels from the U.S. to Finland to visit her grandfather in a remote and isolated cabin deep in the forest,” reads the synopsis on Steam. “But upon arrival, you discover the cabin abandoned and your grandfather has vanished, drawing you into a realm of Nordic mythology and long-lost memories of summers past.”
Judging by the game’s description and trailers, it also looks like Among the Trolls is also inspired by the 2018 survival game, The Forest.
