With the Pokémon franchise being as popular as it is, it is no wonder that many games “inspired” by the monster-catching series have been released over the past few decades.
January last year saw the release of Palworld, a monster-gaming game so similar to Pokémon that Nintendo issued developers Pocketpair with a copyright strike.

However, it seems as though developers have not learned their lesson as this upcoming release combines both Pokémon and Palworld in a very similar setting.
The game is Iron Rift, a creature-collector RPG from Infinity Studio.
“The world was never the same after the Rift,” the official synopsis reads.
“One night, an explosion of unknown energy tore through reality, unleashing terrifying and powerful creatures into the world which are now called Ryzarks.
Cities fell, chaos reigned, and humanity struggled to survive.
To fight back, scientists developed Riftguns, weapons capable of capturing and digitizing these creatures for control.
While some used them to restore balance, others saw an opportunity for power.”
You will follow the story of Lenz, a battle-hardened fighter who was once a street criminal but now finds themselves a lawless survivor in a world ruled by monsters and warlords.
However, when he forms an alliance with one of the unknown creatures, he is soon dragged into a war against the Ruthless 8 - a group of warlords who control the most dangerous creatures around.
You will need to hunt these vicious creatures, form unlikely alliances and forge them into allies as you unleash them in real-time combat.
Of course, you will also be able to capture creatures along the way and use them in battle but “no matter how strong your gun is, you won’t truly defeat a Ryzark until you battle it with one of your own!”
Iron Rift has not yet got a full release date but players can now check it out for free courtesy of a Steam demo so if you are a Pokémon fan, this is definitely one worth checking out.
