Free 10/10 PC Game is Undertale Meets Silent Hill, Complete in One Hour

Cosy, spooky... I'd say take my money, but it's already free!

There are thousands of free-to-play games on PC storefront Steam.

Fair to say, many aren’t worth your time. But today, I’m here to share one that most definitely is.

Developed by indie devs alleesaur and klausthecloset, Everyday Devil is a new free story game that, at the time of writing, boasts a perfect 100% user review score.

It’s described as “a short, linear story game of a random demon guy's life”.

“Ah, what's a devil to do in this day and age?” asks our protagonist.

“Looking back at the past, I'm not sure if I learnt anything. Was there something to in the first place?"

“May you be my judge, jury and executioner, dear player, as you venture through my mind and life. Through my mistakes and plights. Welcome to my everyday.”

In Everyday Devil, you’ll play through short fragmented memories of this demon’s life, with devs adding that you’ll do “a lot of walking and talking”.

Something really fun I love about this free PC game - the gameplay differs depending on which memory fragment you’re in.

“It's a strange world, full of darkness. But it's just everyday life for him,” devs add.

The game reportedly features feelings of both “despair” and “cosyness”, so it’s covering all bases.

And if you have an extensive backlog, worry not. You can finish Everyday Devil in around one hour. That's my weekend plans sorted, as long as it's not too spooky.

Users Have Rated It 100%

As I said, as I'm writing this, I'm looking at its perfect user score of 100%. I've seen loads of hype in my indie circles, so although that could naturally change, there's a lot of love already.

“Extremely cute, truly a creation of love. It made me reflect on what love once meant to me — that it's a choice, a choice of uninterrupted boredom that somehow feels sweet,” one player wrote.

“Cosy in a depressing way as promised with cute art, fun interactions, and a very realistic depiction of apartment hunting. ALSO CUTE CAT 10/10,” added another. (If you weren't convinced before, the cat should be enough).

“What a charming experience! The visuals are straight eye candy, I love the mix of 2D assets in a 3D world. The ambiance is insane and the warm earthy tones of everything are just the perfect cherry on top of an already gorgeous pie! The story itself is very great too,” reads one review.

You can’t ask for more than that.

So, if you’re looking for something short and engaging to play this weekend, perhaps this is it. If horror games aren't your bag, maybe this next free game is something you'd be interested in? Scroll down to find out more.
