Cosy gamers who are also big horror fans, you may enjoy this new spooky twist on a familiar favourite.

Greenhearth Necromancer is a cosy sim where you raise a garden from the dead. This game is all about caring for plants, regardless of whether they’re alive or dead.

You brew potions, cast spells, and build a balcony garden. Everything in this game thrives on cycles of care, decay, and resurrection.

Greenhearth Necromancer has got a cute art style that toes the line between being pleasing on the eyes and also a little spooky.

What is Greenhearth Necromancer?

If you’d like to check out Greenhearth Necromancer for yourself, be sure to head over to Steam where the title is currently offering a free demo for you to download.

The demo features almost all of the stuff you can do in the eventual release, but is scaled down into a bite-sized chunk of the full experience.

This includes getting started in Greenhearth Necromancer’s tutorial, which will introduce all of the mechanics to you, before giving you a taste of the rest of the game.

The demo apparently features “a handful of spells, potions, and rituals to get you started on your necromatic journey,” as well as “an introduction to our story, with a sampling of narrative events and meet + greets with your fellow neighbours!”

The demo also apparently features achievements, unlimited sandbox play, a time of day tool, four radio stations, and more. That’s quite a lot, considering it’s just a demo.

“Play as a young socially-anxious necromancer building a thriving garden on the balcony they inherited from their late grandmother,” reads the official description for Greenhearth Necromancer.

“She was a green witch with a renowned garden, but you never had the same green thumb. Instead, you found your talents in necromancy, which makes a grim situation a little more hopeful when all her plants wither away. Use your magic to raise undead plants and tend their spectral flowers.

“Learn spells, resurrect plants, and attract ghostly bees to generate mystical honey. Then take your goods to the local market, spend time with your co-op neighbors, and try to balance your social battery as you find your place in the Greenhearth community.”

Greenhearth Necromancer doesn’t yet have a release date on Steam. The date as seen on the store page simply says that it's “Coming Soon”, so we'll wait for confirmation on that.
