PC gamers who are really into Valheim or Dead Island may want to check out this new open-world RPG.
IfSunSets combines the survival horror aspects of Dead Island with the open world freedom of Valheim, and has been in Steam Early Access since November last year.
It’s a game where you need to explore, scavenge, and build up your fortifications by day, while at night you hunker down and survive hordes of the undead.

Developer Polymorph has stated that it intends for IfSunSets to stay in Steam Early Access for about a year, but that this may change depending on player feedback.
If it needs a little more time in the oven, it’ll delay the 1.0 release.
IfSunSets is being published by Smilegate, the company which brought the critically acclaimed hit Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 to South Korea.
The game’s official description reads: “Stranded on the island with nothing but the clothes on your back, you begin your journey of survival. Travel across the shores, jungles, and deserts of this vast open world. Collect mysterious items like 'Cthugha Stones' to endure the dangers of this cursed island. Venture deeper into the island and uncover the ancient secrets it has concealed from the world."

It continues, “When night falls, a vast horde of undead emerges. They will pursue you no matter where you hide. Build your own custom fortress to prepare for nightfall. Set up traps and obstacles to protect yourself from the night of the dead. Construct your fortifications with defence in mind!”
IfSunSets is still in Steam Early Access but seems to be getting small hotfixes every few weeks. If the developer commits to only one year in Early Access, it should be hitting a 1.0 release some time before the end of the year - so do keep an eye out for updates.
