Fallout meets Red Dead Redemption and Valheim in brutal new RPG

It's time to hit the tracks

We all remember the iconic train moment from Red Dead Redemption 2 so what if I told you about an upcoming RPG that combines that with the magic of Fallout?

Well, that is definitely the case for the newly announced Frostrail, a open-world survival FPS that can be played either solo or with friends.

Frostrail has also been likened to Valheim. Check out its trailer below!

Developed by FakeFish, Frostrail combines the train escapades found in Red Dead Redemption 2 with the open-world survival of a Fallout-esque setting.

Set to be released next year, players will find themselves in a frost-filled world as they explore, scavenge, craft, and fight in order to survive a cold and corrupted world.

In order to navigate through the frozen wasteland, you will need to operate and upgrade your steam-powered train but be careful, every choice will drastically affect your survival.

“Once a mighty empire, the land now lies barren, consumed by an unrelenting cold,” the official Steam synopsis reads.

“Twisted by the Emperor’s pact with the Void, its ruins are haunted by relentless revenants and eldritch horrors.

Aboard an armored, steam-powered train, the Penitent Gardeners purge the land of the cursed, granting mercy to the lost and striking down the wicked, seeking salvation in the heart of the frozen desolation.”

Your train will become both your saviour and your refuge in this unrelenting world as you will not only find your home in it, but it will also become gaming’s biggest inventory space.

Fuel the Eden Engine, manage its power, and operate it through what remains of the world in an effort to hunt for resources.

However, as the world gets more and more dangerous, your train will have to be upgraded in order to weather all threats including reinforcing walls, crafting weapon stations, and upgrading the engines.

When you are not managing your train, you will be fighting the inhabitants left in this world.

“But the cold is unforgiving, and every step away from your train is a gamble. Risk death for precious supplies or stay safe and go without.

The frost creeps into your bones, the blizzard blinds, slows, and suffocates. Heat is survival, ration it wisely. And in the silence of the snow, something else stirs…”
