Bethesda modders have done it again, with yet another expansion mod for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

Even when The Elder Scrolls VI comes out I don’t think Skyrim is ever going to truly go away, and even though I’m not the biggest fan of Skyrim I can’t deny it’s got staying power.

The Elder Scrolls VI promises a bigger, more expansive world with more modern mechanics though, so it’ll be interesting to see how the two compare

Like Bethesda’s other killer series, Fallout, Skyrim has a dedicated community of modders that regularly throw out new freebies to install, from basic visual enhancements to model replacements and sometimes full-on expansions.

Skyrim Unleashed is one such expansion, as it adds a brand-new quest to the game for players to undertake, that’ll lead you on a journey filled with ancient magic.

The mods’ description reads “A Clever Man, a practitioner of the old nordic magic, sends you on a journey through the province to deal with a matter that has disturbed the spirits of the land. You will be required to travel to different locations to pierce together a mystery, which will eventually lead to a multi-staged boss fight against an ancient evil.”

It goes on to say the mod uses something called the Radiant Quest System, which basically randomises the locations of certain quest objectives for added variety and replayability.

The dialogue is also fully-voiced if that’s something you look for in a mod, and to be fair it does help with immersion.

There are bigger expansion mods out there but this one seems pretty well put together, and once it’s finished you’re given three extra quests that can be repeated.

If you’re looking to extend your stay in Skyrim, these mods are how you do it, and you can download them all for free on NexusMods, including Skyrim Unleashed.
