Players have discovered a glitch in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim that lets them access a hidden treasure chest underneath Whiterun, and it’s a great one to grab early into a playthrough.

Starting a new playthrough in Skyrim can be a slightly daunting process, as like any RPG you start the game with nothing and need to go out and gather the equipment needed for your build.

It’s the spooky season, and the Silent Hill 2 remake is here to celebrate it, take a look at the launch trailer below

Of course you could use mods to give yourself an extra boost at the start of a new game, but if you don’t want to make things too easy, this Whiterun glitch might be a better option.

In a YouTube video by Nate Gaming a glitch is shown that lets you get outside the confines of Whitrun, while still technically being in the area.

Usually you’d have to pass a loading screen when moving in or out of the city, but a few well-timed jumps and you can make your way out-of-bounds.

Working your way around the perimeter of the town and eventually jumping back inside, you’ll find a hidden chest under one of the houses filled with loot, including a full set of steel armour and weapons.

While it’s not the best type of gear in the game it’s certainly better than the iron stuff you find in the starting areas, and the glitch itself is pretty easy to replicate.

Personally I didn’t know that chest existed, and I’m sure there are quite a few players out there who were just as much in the dark.

So if you’re planning on booting up Skyrim for the umpteenth time try this glitch out, even if you don’t use the contents of the chest it’ll at least spice up your gameplay a bit.
