This year in particular has given us some extraordinary titles to add to our libraries, like Starfield, Baldur’s Gate 3, Resident Evil 4 (2023), and Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom to name a few.

That being said, many still have fond memories have games that came out years ago, but still give players that “oh my god” moment, whether it be realising just how expansive an open world really is, going toe to toe with an incredible boss, or shedding a tear at a hard-hitting story segment.

One such game is Rockstar Games’ Red Dead Redemption 2, which many still consider to be the pinnacle of open-world gaming, as well as boasting one of the best stories ever written.

It quickly became the topic of discussion in a post by ILikeVideoGames, which asked gamers: “When was the last time a game blew you away? Graphics wise, Story wise etc”

Fans replied, and as you might expect, Red Dead Redemption 2 was at the top of many people’s lists, and honestly we can’t blame them.

“Overall would be Red Dead 2, it ticks every box”

“Red Dead Redemption 2 for sure bro”

“RDR2 is still the best looking game ever made by a wide margin imo.”

Red Dead Redemption 2 was released over five years ago, yet it’s eternally immortalised as one of the greatest video games ever made. Hopefully, Rockstar can follow it up with an ever-greater Red Dead Redemption 3.
