The Last of Us’ future is, fair to say, uncertain.
While a third season of HBO’s TV adaptation is definitely on the way, franchise creator Neil Druckmann cannot seemingly decide whether creating a third game is the right move.
If you ask me, it’s a must.

I’m not sure I agree with those who feel that the story is ‘complete’ by the end The Last of Us Part II; it feels like a third and final chapter awaits us.
It’s why I’m of the opinion that The Last of Us Part III is a matter of ‘when’ and not ‘if’.
Let’s face it though, nothing is going to be unveiled while Naughty Dog is busy beavering away on Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet.
That title lacks a release date, although many predict it could land as soon as 2026 based on the fact that Naughty Dog has steered away from announcing games too many years in advance.

For The Last of Us fans though, a brand new collectible is being launched to tide you over.
The only downsides here are that it’s pricey and limited-edition.
Naughty Dog has once again teamed up with Dark House Direct, this time creating the ‘The Last of Us: Joel & Ellie on Horseback Premium Statue’.
As the name suggests, the figure features Joel walking alongside Ellie, who’s sitting atop Callus, amidst the first game.

Judging by the clothing, it looks to me as if the scene has been lifted from the university portion of The Last of Us Part I.
It’s a stunning collectible with a great attention to detail.

The statue stands at 13-inches tall, 12-inches wide, and 12.75-inches deep.

It’s limited to 1000 units, with each unit hand-numbered on the base.
Are you ready for the price? The statue will set you back a whopping $349.99; that’s converting to £263.96 when viewing the website from the UK but bear in mind UK based fans will encounter international shipping and customs duties.
If you do plan on ordering this statue, it’s going to take a little while to arrive.
It’s estimated to ship between March and May 2026, practically a year off.

They do say, I suppose, all good things come to those who wait.
