Super Mario Bros. is on PlayStation, the last place we’d expect to see it.
Nintendo’s Super Mario Bros. series is without a doubt one of the most iconic video game properties of all time. Actually, it’s fair to argue that it’s one of the most iconic properties in all forms of entertainment.
I’d say that the Nintendo franchise is so popular that, at the very least, non-gamers will most likely recognise Super Mario as a character, if nothing else. Above all, it’s a banger of a video game series that continues to inspire generations.
When Super Mario Bros. was first released on the NES in 1985, it defined the platforming genre, and whether it's 2D or 3D, it’s a formula that many have tried to replicate, but few have mastered.

That being said, one talented gamer has replicated the Super Mario Bros. formula to near perfection, and it’s via the PlayStation 4 game, Dreams.
In case you didn't know, developed by Media Molecule, Dreams was released in 2020, and it provided players with an unparalleled amount of tools to create whatever game they dreamt up (pun intended). Dreams was a game truly ahead of its time.
The Super Mario Bros. game in question, created in Dreams by DeadShotLazer_72, looks so authentic that it could almost pass as an official Nintendo game at a glance.
“Dreams games lowkey make me sad, because with a little more effort, people could be making games people would play,” said DiabloJimbei, replying to the tweet from ApeAnh.

To which ApeAnh added, “What's sadder is that something original like Dreams that goes against every convention about what games could be, doesn't even get played.”
“This is pretty dang awesome,” declared GameNChick.
“It’s incredible how good that is! Dreams is too good to go for sure,” exclaimed MartinNebelong.
Dreams is still playable on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, but official content support ended in 2023.
