Renewed interest in an upcoming Star Wars game has surfaced following a new look at some of the game’s artwork.
If you think about what the best Star Wars game might be, the chances are you might think of Star Wars: Battlefront, Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order, or LEGO Star Wars.
However, if you’re a bit older like me then you might remember Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, one of BioWare’s RPGs made in the interim between Baldur’s Gate and Mass Effect.
A remake of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic was announced for PS5 back in 2021, and it seems like we haven’t had any news on the game since then.

It was being handled by Aspyr Media, the developer who has also worked on remastering and porting a bunch of other classic Star Wars titles to modern systems. It’s also worked on the recent remasters of Tomb Raider and Legacy of Kain.
However, Aspyr was allegedly moved off the project in 2022, with Saber Interactive apparently taking over development.
In the years since then, we haven’t seen much from the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic remake. It hasn’t been officially cancelled, though we haven’t heard anything regarding the project since its initial announcement.
Now, however, some concept art from the game has apparently been leaked. As shared by MP1st, some artwork depicting the wookiee homeworld of Kashykk has been leaked.

Kashykk is an important playable location in the original Knights of the Old Republic, so it’s no surprise to see that concept art was drafted up for this part of the game.
According to MP1st, the artwork comes from a concept artist who worked at Aspyr until 2021, so it seems like it could be legitimate.
Hopefully we hear more about the remake of Knights of the Old Republic soon. If it’s assumed that development was restarted in 2022 under Saber Interactive, then the game has currently spent three years in development and could be due a first trailer soon.
