Red Dead Redemption 2 spiritual successor announced for PlayStation 5

Arthur Morgan is back

Angharad Redden

In an ideal world, Arthur Morgan would have not received his diagnosis, left the gang, and gone far away to build his very own homestead, tend to some cattle, and live a peaceful life.

Although that future was not possible in Red Dead Redemption 2, it may be in a different game which is coming soon.

Check out the reveal trailer for Cattle Country below!

Revealed in a trailer narrated by our very own Arthur Morgan voice actor, Roger Clark, Cattle Country is an upcoming “cozy cowboy adventure life sim” from developer Castle Pixel.

“Howdy partner! Welcome to Cattle Country, the Cozy Cowboy Adventure Life Sim,” the official synopsis reads.

“Become a determined pioneer traveling west to start a new life. Make a home in the mountains, take on bandits, discover dastardly plots, build a farm, develop your town, and make friends with fellow residents.”

If you are a fan of cowboys, Arthur Morgan and Stardew Valley, then you will love Cattle Country as it straddles the line between a farming simulator and an action-adventure classic.

When you are not tending to your homestead and its many animals, you can head down to the mines, take part in the local barn dance or even hop on a cow and battle in a rodeo.

There may be bandits to fend off who will try their best to take over your land but you should also take time for yourself by getting to know the locals and even falling in love and marrying.

Cattle Country offers “deep-rooted Wild West Quests delivering stories of romance, cattle drives, bandits, and robberies” as well as allowing you to create your own little slice of heaven under the blue skies of the mountainous village.

With the trailer releasing back in June, potential players soon took to the comments to share their excitement for the return of Arthur Morgan himself in this spiritual Red Dead Redemption 2 successor.

“After having recently finished RDR2, hearing Arthur's voice again is like hearing the voice of a long lost friend and the game looks great too,” one comment read.

Another said: “If Arthur Morgan is a voice actor in this game, it’s a buy from me.”

Cattle Country does not yet have a full release date but it is now available to try out for free courtesy of a Steam demo.

Not only that but Cattle Country will officially be heading to the PlayStation 5 upon release. A PlayStation 5 demo is unavailable at the time of writing.
