Despite rumours, the PlayStation 6 may still be a few years away from launch but when it comes to one of Sony’s latest releases, it feels as though the next-generation of gaming is already here.
Over recent months, rumours have begun swirling about development on the PlayStation 6 as many Sony fans have revealed that they are not yet ready to say goodbye to their PlayStation 5 consoles.
As a result of stock shortages, scalpers, and the COVID-19 pandemic, many users did not get their hands on a PS5 until way after its initial launch in 2020 so it is perhaps no surprise that the hardware still feels brand-new.
Not only that but a recent game release just goes to show that the PlayStation 5 is still capable of incredible triumphs when it comes to graphics and performance.

The game is, of course, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach.
Released earlier this week as a direct sequel to Kojima Productions’ 2019 Death Stranding, this latest release has been blowing player’s minds by pushing the very limits of what the PlayStation 5 is capable of.
Running on the Decima engine, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is quite simply stunning and players have been taking to social media to share some screenshots of their experience.
That includes user Captainhorizon7 on Twitter who shared a screenshot alongside the caption, “Kojima out here making a PS6 game tf.”

“Also I did quite literally pull this screenshot from the game. Like this isn’t even a shared one from a gameplay trailer, this legitimately is what it looks like and it’s wild.”
The screenshot looks stunning as it shows protagonist Sam walk through a light-soaked rainy street as reflections bounce off the wet ground and sparks from nearby electrical fans sizzle against the night.
It is hard to believe that this is being pulled off on a PlayStation 5 but it just goes to show what the hardware is capable of in the right hands.
Not only that, but when the PlayStation 6 is eventually released, we can only imagine what games will look like over the next couple of years.
