PlayStation 5 gamers are heartbroken after an exclusive console game is getting shut down in 2026.

As is the nature of the video game beast, we’re used to games being shut down, no matter how much we love them. At the end of the day, as much as we might enjoy a particular game, it’s irrelevant to the grand scheme of things.

In the modern world, more focus than ever has been placed on how games can make money for publishers and investors. And to be fair, a video game is still a product for a business to generate revenue, and personal feelings do not come into the equation. So we do get that.

One such game is the free-to-play battle royale, Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodhunt, developed and published by Sharkmob AB, released on PC and PlayStation 5 in April 2022.

“Bloodhunt is a thrilling free-to-play battle royale game set in Prague, consumed by a ruthless war between vampire factions. Use your supernatural powers, weapons, and wit to hunt your rivals and dominate the night!” reads the synopsis of the game.

To be honest, I completely forgot that Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodhunt still existed and with most games struggling to make an impact in the free-to-play battle royale market, I assumed it would have faced the chopping block way before now.

The news of Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodhunt meeting its demise was brought to our attention by PlayStation LifeStyle.

“Dear Bloodhunt community. After four unforgettable years, the streets of Prague will see their final sunrise on 28 April 2026,” tweeted the official Twitter account. “The hunt continues until then. Let’s make these final nights in Prague ones to remember.”

“Great game and some unforgettable hours (a lot of them too). Wish you all the success on your next title,” replied Neco42.

“Thanks for the fun times!” said Jakey401.

“This game was the best battle royale game I have ever played,” exclaimed

Dhizaes. “From the feelings of the city to the gameplay, every piece of it was a vibe and perfection. Thank you for all your work, and see you in the next projects!”

“Sad to see you go, thanks for all the good times,” recalled eatsmokes.

Tragic. But not unexpected. Thank you for all the fun, Sharkmob AB. It's been a wild ride,” wrote Despair2077.

If you’re a fan of Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodhunt or have often been tempted by this game, you might want to jump into its Gothic streets of Prague, sooner rather than later.
