PlayStation Owners Alerted to Trade in Old Consoles Before Christmas
PlayStation owners wanting to finally upgrade to the PS5 may have the chance to do that. And it all comes down to trading in before the end of the year.
The PlayStation 5 recently celebrated its fifth birthday, with the console around halfway through its lifespan.
But the price of the console has still left many without the console. It isn't cheap and takes a fair bit of expandable income to buy the console and DualSense controllers, never mind the games you want to play on it.
Well thanks to Currys and its trade-in programme, you can take advantage of getting rid of your old kit while upgrading at the same time.

'It pays to trade-in' so says the Currys website. And it's no lie.
As part of the company's commitment to sustainability, you can give over your old games consoles to the retailer while in the process of buying something new.
So that old PS4 - or even Xbox One - are given a new lease of life elsewhere, or recycled sustainably, while you get some cash towards that sparkly new PS5.
Currys trade-in programme explained
It's really easy, with three simple steps to get your offer from Currys
First up, you need to select your device and get an instant estimate. Currys says: "Once you've got your estimate, send us your device. Alternatively, keep hold of your estimate, come in-store and we'll finalise and process your trade-in there and then."
Step two, choose to finalise your trade-in online or in-store. Currys explains: "Once you’ve got your estimate, send us your device for free or bring it in-store. We’ll confirm it’s suitable for trade-in and process your payment.
"If you send us your device, we’ll email you about your payment. If you come in-store, we’ll process your payment there and then and give you an e-gift card."
Last but definitely not least, choose your new tech. Critically, Currys says it will wipe your devices clean before 'giving them a new lease of life' so that your data is protected.

Trade PS4 in, Take Advantage of Currys Offer
As it stands, we went on the Currys Trade-in website and found deals for more than £60 towards your old PS4 tech.
It means you can land a PS5 from Currys for £364 against an RRP of just under £430.
That's for the Sony PlayStation 5 Digital Edition, meaning the PS5 disc version will come in at £414 compared to its RRP of £479.
