It's not a brilliant offer, but it's the best there is

Black Friday deals on PlayStation Plus memberships are just beginning to trickle in.

We’re all familiar with the fact that PlayStation Plus has risen in price in recent years and while it’s nice to see the service pushing to add more day one launches to make that increase worthwhile, it’s still a strain on our wallets.

That’s why deals are so important, allowing us to nab memberships while they’re on offer at a discounted rate.

It’s a deal that originally surfaced in Japan though which has left PlayStation users feeling slightly underwhelmed.

This Black Friday, users can nab 30% off a premium subscription, 25% off the extra tier, and 20% off the essential tier.

Personally, I don’t think that’s the worst offer in the world - especially as it’s on par with what we’ve come to expect from these PlayStation Plus deals.

Many others feel quite differently though.

The Plucky Squire was one such day one release that launched on the extra tier.

“Was expecting at least 30%,” wrote Reddit user Agitated-Bread5092.

“Only 20% off for essential is whack. They should have just made it a flat 30% for all tiers,” added ClashBox.

I can confirm that this offer has also now gone live in the UK, offering the same discounts on each tier as Japan, as well as in the USA.

With that in mind, I’m expecting it’ll be the same offer across the globe.

I should stress that this offer only applies if you purchase a 12-month subscription. You cannot have the discount on pay-monthly options.

It’s certainly not as great of a deal as fans were hoping for but if you ask me, this is the best you’re gonna get.

If you’re looking to upgrade, extend, or begin a membership, I’d take note of this deal before it’s too late.
