breaking news

PlayStation Plus' first essential tier free game for November has leaked online.
Once again, this leak comes courtesy of billbil-kun via Dealabs and so while I'd typically encourage you to take leaks with a hefty pinch of salt, I'll add that billbil-kun is, to date, always bang on when it comes to PlayStation Plus.
It's been revealed that in November, all subscribers will be able to get their hands on Annapurna Interactive's Stray, and I personally can't decide whether that's great or underwhelming news.
You see, Stray was previously made available via the extra tier as a day one release.

It's since been removed and therefore is not currently available via PlayStation Plus.
As such, I'm imagining that many subscribers will now be able to get to play it for the first time courtesy of this essential tier addition, but for those of us who have been subscribed to PlayStation Plus for some time, it does somewhat feel like we're being re-served a meal we've already eaten.
Developed by BlueTwelve, Stray is, if you don't know, an adventure game that sees you embody the role of a cat.
The playable feline becomes separated from their travelling companions in the game's opening (bring a tissue), prompting you to travel through a strange futuristic city where robots replace humans.

Your goal is simple; you'll want to find a way out of the city in order to try and reunite with your feline pals.
It's a truly wonderful game and I do urge you to give it a go if you haven't already.
Stray secured a very respectable score of 83 on Metacritic when it first landed in 2022.

Here at GAMINGbible, we awarded the game a score of nine, writing, "Stray is stunning, creative, funny, and filled with moments that genuinely made my jaw drop. Whether you adore cats, or have some fundamental piece of your soul missing and don’t really care about them either way, this game is the real deal."
"It might be a little on the short side, but I was never anything less than utterly captivated and thoroughly entertained during the entire adventure. And really, what more could you want from a video game in these trying times?"
Stray has a runtime of five to six hours, so it shouldn't take you too long to work through this game if you're backlog is piled up.
When will Stray be available?
The full November essential tier line-up is due to be announced this coming Wednesday, 29 October.

We should then receive confirmation of Stray's inclusion as well as find out the other two titles that'll be joining it on the essential tier this month.
As always, the trio of free games will then be made available to subscribers on the following Tuesday which works out as 4 November.
