PlayStation Plus new free game is a 'banger', gamers agree

The PlayStation Plus offerings over the past few months have been doing quite well and this roguelike that is free to download right now is no exception.

Being a PlayStation Plus subscriber can be a bit of a gamble.

You either get access to day-one titles or amazing past releases for free or you can go a few months without the service offering anything worthwhile.

However, in more recent months, Sony has been adding some bangers to its PS Plus library and that includes Cult of the Lamb.

First released in 2022, Cult of the Lamb is a roguelike that sees the player take on the role of a lamb who just happens to be a cult leader.

“Start your own cult in a land of false prophets, venturing out into diverse and mysterious regions to build a loyal community of woodland Followers and spread your Word to become the one true cult,” the official synopsis reads.

Thanks to excellent Twitch integration and an amazing social media team, this roguelike has gained massive popularity over the past few years and that’s not to mention the regular updates provided by the studio.

Now Cult of the Lamb is free for all PlayStation Plus subscribers and fans of the title took to r/PlayStationPlus to share their thoughts.

“I just recently started playing and got very much into it,” the original poster wrote.

“All aspects of the game are fun, the procedurally generated dungeons, combat, but the music man… it’s something else and it keeps me coming back…

If you haven’t, give it a try!”

What followed was almost 100 comments that mostly praised the title by Massive Monster.

“Loved it. Very fun how it develops and the blend between dungeon crawler and cult building,” another comment read.

“Great art design, music and humour. Reminded me of Don’t Starve.”
