PlayStation Plus March first free game appears online

PlayStation Plus’ first essential tier game for March has just surfaced online.

Well, this is an unexpected surprise. PlayStation Plus’ first essential tier game for March has just surfaced online.

We’re not actually due March’s essential tier announcement until tomorrow, but trusted leaker billbil-kun is back in action, it seems. Before we dive into what’s next for PlayStation Plus, allow me to recap the month so far. Essential tier subscribers can currently grab day one release Foamstars, in addition to Rollerdrome, and Steelrising. Those titles are only available to grab until Monday 4 March, with the new line-up then going live next Tuesday on 5 March. As for what the new line-up will entail, well leaker billbil-kun has just announced March’s headliner.

You have just a few more days to download day one release Foamstars. Take a look at the game in action below.

As reported by Dealabs, March’s essential tier headliner is Sifu, the 2022 beat em’ up from Slocap. As far as sources go, billbil-kun is a reliable one. The leaker has correctly predicted numerous PlayStation Plus line-ups, but has been out of action as of late. That being said, we must always take these kinds of leaks with a small pinch of salt, with Sony providing full confirmation tomorrow. It’ll be interesting to see which titles join Sifu.

Sifu is a stellar game, boasting a Metacritic score of 81. In our own review, we wrote, “Sifu has layers - and the closer you get to its centre, the more you understand its own structure, what makes it and its many obstacles tick. The closer you get to it, the clearer the details between the deckings.”

Having spent some time on PlayStation Plus’ subreddit, I know that this title has been on plenty of people’s wishlists for quite some time so March should go down well. Beat em’ ups aren’t for everyone though, but hopefully we’ll see several other genres reflected in the rest of the line-up.
