PlayStation Plus gamers have been urged to not miss this “one of a kind” game that’s just been added to the subscription service.

You know the drill by now. PlayStation Plus is a fantastic service for discoverability if you’re a gamer who’s on a tight budget.

It can be quite daunting to scroll through the front page of the PlayStation Store, and when games are selling for $70 these days, being able to try them out at a much cheaper price is always appreciated.

PlayStation Plus users are now urging players to not miss out on a new game that’s just been added to the service. But make sure you take advantage of the offer soon, as you only have about a month to claim and add it to your account.

The game is Alan Wake 2, the 2023 survival horror game developed by Remedy Entertainment and set in the Remedy Connected Universe.

“Like it hasn’t been said enough already, PLEASE give Alan Wake 2 a try,” reads a post on the PlayStation Plus Reddit page. “As if Control wasn’t enough, this game has some of the most creative art directions in gaming. Sam Lake’s cinematic vision is on another level, something that can’t be replicated. It’s truly a one of a kind gameplay experience.”

“If you’re a fan of Twin Peaks, Silent Hill, Silence of the Lambs, The Shining, From, and Dark, this game is a must play,” reads a comment underneath the post.

“It really is a masterpiece that every PS Plus subscriber should give a chance. I still think about it all the time, nearly two years later,” reads another comment.

A few other players are a little torn on it, though. “Alan Wake and Control are both in consideration for my top ten of all-time,” wrote one player.

“I bought Alan Wake 2 on release, played an hour, and dropped it. Months later, I went back, restarted, played like five or six hours, and dropped it. Both times I liked what I saw, but for whatever reason, I just didn't stick it out. Seriously considering another run at it this month.”

Being set in the Remedy Connected Universe, Alan Wake 2 is the sequel to Alan Wake but it's also connected to Control. Quantum Break and Max Payne, also by Remedy, also share some common DNA and references, even if they’re not directly set in the same universe.

You can grab Alan Wake 2 on PlayStation Plus Essential now, along with Cocoon and Goat Simulator 3. Once claimed, the games will be available in your library for as long as you’re a PlayStation Plus subscriber.
