PlayStation Plus subscribers are treated to bonus free DLC for one of the most popular RPGs.

Regardless of the tier that you subscribe to, you shouldn't be short of anything to play with Sony’s PlayStation Plus. Each of the three tiers, Essential, Extra and Premium, offers a ton of video games that you can play in a near instant.

Of course, it’s not just games that you have at your disposal with PlayStation Plus, because everyone gets access to online multiplayer, bonus DLC and tidy discounts. That being said, the higher the PS Plus tier, the more perks you’ll have available.

However, this week, all PlayStation Plus subscribers got more than they bargained for, and it’s a treat for fans of Bethesda’s popular MMORPG, The Elder Scrolls Online.

“Every legend starts somewhere, and in The Elder Scrolls Online, it starts with you,” reads the synopsis of the game. “Write your story into a vibrant chapter of Tamriel’s distant past that takes place nearly 1,000 years before the iconic TES V: Skyrim, and discover a world steeped in adventure and possibility.”

The Elder Scrolls Online Players Are Treated

As shared on the official X account for The Elder Scrolls Online, starting with the first season, all subscribers to PlayStation Plus will receive all brand new content in the base version of the game, no matter if you subscribe to Essential, Extra or Premium.

Starting with Season 0, all new content and features are going to be available for free for anyone who owns #ESO or plays through @XboxGamepass or @PlayStation Plus. That means:

“One of the best long-running MMO designs I’ve seen, so really excited to see it evolve. Reminds me of RuneScape and its regular updates,” replied Evanz111.

“That's really cool. I never put enough time into ESO to justify buying all of the little expansions. I did buy a few of the big ones as they launched,” said Engetsuren.

A lot of followers on X have called for the developers to improve the combat in The Elder Scrolls Online, and it looks like that wish will eventually be granted.

“If y'all would update the combat, it could be the best MMO available. Content-wise wise it is. Just fix the combat,” said Coleybama.

The official Twitter account replied with “Hi there. Combat Refresh is in the works for this year, beginning with DK and two-handed in March!

"You can preview these changes on the PTS on Monday.”

Sadly, another highly requested feature is crossplay and cross-progression. Hopefully, that will be the next improvement coming to the game. Fingers crossed.

The Elder Scrolls Online is available on PC, PlayStation and Xbox.
