PlayStation Plus next free game is the PS5's biggest exclusive

There’s never a dull moment to be had if you’re a PlayStation Plus subscriber.

I simply cannot play games fast enough.

Every time I complete one, 10 more are added to the service that I’m itching to get my hands on.

My backlog grows ever more extensive - and with games removed as well as added every month, it’s always a race against the clock.

In case you missed it, it was announced last week that an additional 13 free games will be joining the extra and premium tiers this month - tomorrow, to be exact.

The headliner is The Plucky Squire which is landing on the extra tier as a day one launch.

That’ll be joined by Under The Waves, Night in the Woods, Chernobylite, Wild Card Football, Space Engineers, Road 96, Ben 10, and Far Cry 5.

The premium tier will then gain Pistol Whip, Secret Agent Clank, Sky Gunner, and Mister Mosquito.

What I want to draw your attention to though is something else that looks poised to land in the coming weeks.

Take a look at the delightful The Plucky Squire in action below.

It appears as if a free trial of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will soon be landing on the premium tier.

A banner advising as such was spotted by Reddit user ayyybro123 on the Belgian and Dutch versions of PlayStation Plus.

No such trial has yet formally been added nor announced, but it’s hardly surprising news.

In line with other premium tier trials, I’m imagining it’ll last for between one and three hours, with all progress carrying over should players pick up the full game.

As always, do take this with a pinch of salt until anything is officially confirmed but given that the banner was spotted on an official PlayStation channel, an announcement is surely only a matter of time.

In our review of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, we wrote, “This is an amazing fantasy come to life and realised like never before. Insomniac Games has crafted yet another heartfelt Spider-Man story bursting with twists, turns, and show-stopping spectacle.”

I don’t know about you but I’m itching for a DLC announcement from Insomniac. Let’s hope there’s one on the horizon.
