PlayStation Plus latest free game is a PS1 classic

Play it. Play it. Play it.

One of the latest additions to PlayStation Plus is a classic PlayStation 1 game that desperately needs a remake, and I think we all know which one.

If you didn’t catch yesterday’s PlayStation Plus announcement I’m afraid it was pretty lacklustre, though it had a few saving graces at least.

Part of the announcement confirmed two more PlayStation 1 games would join PlayStation Plus, though only for PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers of course.

These include Siren, and the best game out of the pair, Dino Crisis, which we’ll be talking about today.

Developed by Capcom and basically ‘Resident Evil meets Jurassic Park’, Dino Crisis is a phenomenal horror title with a cult following.

While it didn’t take off to the same degree as the Resident Evil games did, it’s a fantastic series and fans have been begging for a remake like the ones the PS1 Resi games have gotten in recent years.

You can play the entirety of the first game via PlayStation Plus Premium, which enhanced visuals and frames, though you will of course need to cloud-stream the game like all of the other titles on the Premium service.

The game is yet to be made available as a standalone purchase, something that really needs to change though perhaps they’re waiting to release it as part of a Dino Crisis bundle or something.

Personally I’m all for waiting until the official remake, which could be on the horizon given the support it’s been getting, and Capcom is slowly running out of Resident Evil games to remake.

So if you’re subscribed to PlayStation Plus Premium and haven’t played Dino Crisis before, now’s the time to do so, and I’d implore you to give it a go.
