PlayStation Plus users are a tad late to the party on this one, but they’ve finally branded one of my favourite games a “10/10 gaming experience”.
The game in question is the brilliant Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart which was released back in 2021.
As much as I adore the Marvel’s Spider-Man games and cannot wait for Marvel’s Wolverine, I need Insomniac Games to bring us a new Ratchet and Clank entry soon.
The game follows on from previous franchise instalments, but I wouldn’t necessarily say you need to have sampled those.

As is the case with most platforming adventure games, the story is pretty simple: there’s a bad guy and you need to stop him.
Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart joined the extra tier of PlayStation Plus all the way back in 2023, so it’s been around a while.
You know how it is though; there are so many games to play that it can take a while to work through your backlog.
Many PS5 users are, with that in mind, just discovering this gem.

“I finally started Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart last night and wow, this game is seriously so much fun,” wrote Reddit user BokehJunkie.
“The game looks incredible, the voice acting is great, the gameplay is smooth, the controls are easy to grasp, and some of the action mechanics like the rift tether and rail skating are so much fun. The last time I had this much fun on a game out of the box was probably Tears of the Kingdom. Currently wishing my life away at work so I can play again tonight,” they continued.
Plenty of others heaped praise on the title.
“It’s like playing a Pixar movie. The graphics are gorgeous and the gameplay is so fun. The entire opening sequence I had the biggest smile on my face. First time a video game had me feeling like a kid again in a very long time. 10/10 gaming experience,” added doc_birdman.

“This game was the bomb! It was the first thing I played when I got the PS5 two years ago. Loved every minute of it. I need to replay it soon,” commented Last-Shop-9829.
Yeah, I haven’t played this one since release and now I have a sudden urge to.
Replaying old favourites feels like such a crime though when my backlog is bursting at the seams.
If you do fancy giving Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart a whirl, venture over to PlayStation Plus’ extra tier.
