PlayStation Plus first free game for April has fans hyped: 'I can't wait'

Don't fret Game Pass players, you're not being left out either

What looks to be a sleeper Game of the Year hit for 2025 is coming to PlayStation Plus on day one in April, and fans are already excited to get their hands on it.

There are a lot of games to get excited for this year. Grand Theft Auto VI, Pokémon Legends: Z-A, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, Ghost of Yotei– the list is endless.

But there’s one game that’s been flying under the radar that I’m fairly certain is going to make some serious waves upon its release, and PlayStation Plus subscribers are going to be able to play it on the first day it releases.

That game is Blue Prince, a single-player puzzle game from developers Dogubomb and publishers Raw Fury, and Sony has already confirmed that the game will be landing on PlayStation Plus Extra on April 10.

If you’re curious why I’m so certain about the quality of this one, that’s because I played the demo for it a while back on Steam.

The demo was a pretty sizeable length, and yet it still left me wanting more - and it seems I’m not the only one.

Over in a thread on the r/PlayStationPlus subreddit discussing Blue Prince’s release on PlayStation Plus Extra, fans shared their hype for the upcoming title.

“That's so exciting,” commented user Oquaem, “I put like 20 hours in the demo, so stoked I'm getting it on here!”

“Can’t wait to play this and sink a few hours into it, it looks so chill,” replied user ShaneTVZ.

Personally, however, I’d actually recommend against playing the demo on Steam.

I don’t think it ruins anything perse, I just think this one might end up being so special that going in completely blind will enhance the experience.

Oh, and in case you Game Pass folks were feeling left out, don’t stress; Blue Prince is coming to the Game Pass library on day one too.
