PlayStation Plus users surprised with bonus free store credit you can claim now

Earn those stars!

I’m sure that it’s totally fine for me to steal a trademarked saying from a well-known UK supermarket chain and say ‘Every Little Helps’ and apply it to the PlayStation Stars reward scheme.

It’s a scheme that allows players to earn points based on completing PlayStation campaigns, or buying games and then building up those points for a tasty chunk of store credit.

LEGO Horizon Adventures takes a well-loved Sony franchise and transforms it.

PlayStation Stars is available to all users - not just PlayStation Plus subscribers - and it gives out some lovely digital items, if you’re into that kind of thing, or what most people want, some store credit to buy more games.

You can earn these points when you buy a digital game, or by meeting certain requirements in games.

There are a couple of new campaigns for February that are worth paying attention to.

The first will reward you with 50 points and requires you to buy a game from the following selection: ENDER MAGNOLIA: Bloom in the Mist, Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver 1 & 2 Remastered, Alien: Rogue Incursion, or LEGO Horizon Adventures.

The second campaign also doles out 50 points and is based on playing some games with a friend using ‘couch co-op.’

The games you can earn with are: Sackboy: A Big Adventure, Cat Quest II, Portal Knights, Everybody’s Golf, Overcooked: All You Can Eat, and LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham.

As with any campaign, you will need to use your PlayStation app and activate the task before you play or buy, otherwise you won’t get the 50 points.

Once you’ve built up a pot of points, you can start redeeming them.

At the moment, 5,000 points will get you £5 on the PSN store, while 10,000 points snags you £10.

It’s well worth checking the app every once in a while to see if you can land some extra points before you buy anything.
