Stardew Valley just got a Pokémon overhaul thanks to this free new mod

If you love Stardew Valley and Pokémon, there’s a free mod you can download today that combines the cosy farming and life-sim gameplay of Stardew Valley with the nostalgic charm of classic Pokémon. It’s a particularly tempting download for fans who miss the earlier days of Nintendo’s beloved monster-catching series.

When it comes to beloved indie games, ConcernedApe’s endlessly charming Stardew Valley is right up there with the very best. More than a decade after its original release in 2016, the farming and life-sim game remains hugely popular, thanks in no small part to its charming characters, relaxing gameplay and dedicated modding community.

This Stardew Valley mod is a treat for Pokemon fans

Speaking of mods, today’s recommendation is ‘Pelipper Town’, created by AlexanderVerde and available to download for free via Nexusmods.

So, what exactly does it do? Quite simply, it brings adorable Pokémon companions to Pelican Town, giving Stardew Valley players the chance to explore the valley with their favourite creatures by their side.

“Explore the valley with Pokémon by your side, find them in different habitats, let suitable partners help around the farm, and experience some new quests involving Pokémon and familiar townspeople,” reads the mod’s description. “The mod can be played solo or in multiplayer and works with new or existing saves.”

But ‘Pelipper Town’ goes much further than simply adding Pokémon companions. Players can train their Pokémon to learn new moves, build stronger bonds with them and even enlist their help with everyday activities such as farming, mining and fishing.

And yes, the Pokémon can battle too, adding another layer of gameplay to Stardew Valley’s otherwise peaceful routine.

All things considered, ‘Pelipper Town’ sounds like an excellent free mod for anyone who loves both Stardew Valley and Pokémon. There is one important catch, though: like all of Stardew Valley mods, ‘Pelipper Town’ is exclusive to PC.
