PlayStation Plus gamers urged to check out 'beautiful' free game before it's gone

With new games being added each month, it is easy for some games to slip under the radar when it comes to PlayStation Plus.

However, when an absolute banger goes unnoticed, it is always a shame but it seems as though PlayStation Plus members are determined to stop the same thing happening to this beautiful free game.

In related news, PlayStation recently celebrated its 30th anniversary. Check out its thank you trailer below!

The game in question was recently brought up over on r/PlayStationPlus with the original poster calling it “an amazing game” that they can’t “recommend enough”.

So what exactly is it?

It’s 2021 adventure game Road 96 which sees players hitchhike their way to freedom in a crazy procedurally generated road trip. As a result, no two road trips will ever be the same.

“So I just finished playing Road 96 and I loved every second of it,” Shoddy_Article5056 said.

“The art style leads to some really beautiful moments, the degree of randomness makes it feel like you’re really playing YOUR story, the characters (mostly) felt compelling to me and I actually wanted to see my relationships with them grow.

“I’ll admit I wouldn’t download it if you’re expecting Disco Elysium levels of political philosophy as the political side of it is fairly one dimensional, but man if you just want to appreciate the journey and seeing where each next stop takes you I can’t recommend this game enough.

I would really recommend going into it completely blind and playing around an hour of it before giving up on it. That’s how I played it and I stayed up until 4am just loving every second of it.

This is one of those games that could slip away from the PS plus catalogue unnoticed someday, so if you’re at all into story driven “choice matters” type games I can’t recommend it enough. A real hidden gem.”

It seems as though it isn’t only Shoddy_Article5056 who admires Road 96.

“I played this when it came out and really enjoyed it,” user SeaElephant8890 commented.

The story and characters have stuck with me.

I recommend it too.”

Road 96 is available to play for PlayStation Plus members now so download it before it is gone for good.
