PlayStation Plus drops 17 new free games for August

What a huge mix of free games!

PlayStation Plus has announced 17 new free games for August 2023, including some classic OG PlayStation bangers.

The free games for PlayStation Plus Essential subscribers didn't go down brilliantly, but this fresh batch of games for Extra and Premium subscribers is a real step up.

Before we dive in, a recap on what subscribers can currently grab via the Essential tier: PGA Tour 2K23, Dreams, and Death’s Door. I'd argue that's a pretty spot-on lineup, especially the incredible Death's Door, but you can't please everyone.

Hopefully the Extra and Premium games for August go down a little smoother. Tuesday, 15 August, PlayStation Plus Extra subscribers can get: Moving Out 2, Destiny 2: The Witch Queen, Lost Judgment, Destroy All Humans 2: Reprobed, Two Point Hospital: Jumbo Edition, Source Of Madness, Cursed To Golf, Dreams, PJ Masks: Heroes Of The Night, Hotel Transylvania: Scary-Tale Adventures, Lawn Mowing Simulator: Landmark Edition, Spellforce III Reforced, and Midnight Fight Express.

That's not all, though. Extra subscribers will also be able to download and play the upcoming retro-inspired RPG Sea Of Stars on 29 August, the day the game releases. It's looking to be one of 2023's best games, so definitely don't miss out on that one.

Meanwhile, PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers can get hold of the following classics: MediEvil: Resurrection, Ape Escape: On The Loose, and Pursuit Force: Extreme Justice. That's a really strong batch of games, I have to say.
