Gather around, my PlayStation Plus subscribing friends. The first extra and premium tier drop of 2024 has arrived and January will see 14 games added to the platform.

Already, 2024 is off to a rather solid start. It’s no secret that 2023 was a tad shaky for Sony’s gaming subscription service. Despite the addition of cloud streaming and the Sony Pictures Core library for premium viewers, price rises and lacklustre additions left most subscribers feeling cheated. This month though saw A Plague Tale: Requiem, Evil West, and Nobody Saves The World land on the essential tier. Three solid games. Now, we know which 14 games will be landing across the extra and premium catalogues next week, on 16 January, and it’s another decent offering.

Speaking of A Plague Tale: Requiem, check the trailer out below.

January’s PlayStation Plus extra tier additions are as follows: Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands - Next Level Edition (PS4/5), Resident Evil 2 (PS4/5), Hardspace: Shipbreaker (PS5), LEGO City Undercover (PS4), Just Cause 3 (PS4), Session: Skate Sim (PS4/5), Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun (PS4), Vampire: The Masquerade - Swansong (PS4/5), and Surviving The Aftermath (PS4).

The premium tier will gain: Rally Cross (PS4/5), Star Wars: Episode 1 The Phantom Menace (PS4/5), Street Fighter: 30th Anniversary (PS4), Legend of Mana (PS4), and Secret of Mana (PS4).

Resident Evil 2 is clearly the winner here, although I’m imagining Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands will also go down well. All games will become available to download and enjoy on 16 January.
