PlayStation gamers warned they’ve 24 hours left to claim free New Year download

PlayStation users have a chance to snag a free bonus, but only for the next 24 hours, so you’ll need to act quickly to get this.

To celebrate the Lunar New Year, PlayStation are offering out some extra reward points for completing the latest campaign.

If you aren’t already aware of the reward scheme, PlayStation Stars, then let me give you a quick run down.

Whenever you buy something via the PSN store, you’ll get some reward points.

You can also earn these by completing certain campaigns, which can be selected through your PlayStation app.

Usually, you get a few points here and there, and they can be redeemed, again, through the app, and use for free store credit.

Sometimes, especially for celebrations, instead of points you’ll get a lovely digital collectible - something you can also claim with your reward points.

For the Lunar New Year campaign, you simply need to accept the challenge and play any game on your PS5 or PS4.

Once you’ve completed this simple task, you’ll receive a digital collectible of a “New Year's Play 2025 Envelope.”

This is yours, and Sony’s, way of celebrating the year of the snake.

While you’re navigating the app, you’ll notice plenty of other campaigns that offer points, ranging from 50 points and upward.

Once you’ve collected 5,000 points you can claim £5/$5 in store credit, 10,000 will snag you £10/$10, too.

Remember to keep an eye out for new campaigns that require you to buy or play your favourite games, as they can be a great way to total up some extra points here and there.

Sony quite often bring out new campaigns and collectibles whenever new games are released.
