PlayStation gamers surprised with major PS5 update ahead of PS5 Pro release

The PlayStation Store has just received a brand new coat of paint, which seems to be solely targeting those who are currently on the fence about purchasing a PlayStation 5 Pro.

As spotted by PlayStation LifeStyle’s Zarmena Khan, the new update has added a brand new category to the PlayStation Store that lists all of the games that will be receiving PlayStation 5 Pro upgrades.

It seems that the function is currently tucked behind the “latest” section in the PS5 store, but you don’t specifically need a PS5 Pro to access it. Anyone with a standard PlayStation 5 or a PlayStation 5 Slim can still see the new section, according to reports from users online.

As of now, it seems that this update is only available for those in the United Kingdom and the United States, although it is still likely available in other regions that have simply yet to have been confirmed.

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is one title recieving an upgrade.

Over on the r/PS5pro subreddit, a thread titled “PS5 Pro category added to bottom of PS Store” has thankfully managed to confirm a few little tidbits of information.

This comment from user YesThisIsMyAltAcct confirms that, as of writing, it’s only possible to access this section through PlayStation 5 hardware as it’s not currently available through the PlayStation Store app.

More importantly, another user has confirmed all of the titles currently listed in the new section.

Amiculi’s comment specifies all of the titles currently available, although keep in mind that this will likely be updated as time goes on.

Their list includes (but is not limited to): The Last of Us Part I, Demon's Souls, Marvel's Rivals, Slitterhead, Horizon Forbidden West, Palworld, Baldur's Gate 3, Star Wars: Jedi Survivor, Until Dawn, Alan Wake 2, Dragon's Dogma 2, Stellar Blade, Resident Evil 4 and Marvel's Spider-Man 2.

This list will most likely be updated pretty soon, as Sony has announced plenty of additional upgrades.
