PlayStation has treated fans to a free demo of the upcoming adventure/platform game Ghostrunner 2, which users can download right now.

Ever since Ghostrunner blew fans away with its fast-paced and action-packed gameplay, they’ve been dying for a sequel. Now, Ghostrunner 2 is on the horizon and promises more thrills, more exhilarating combat, and more of the cyberpunk aesthetic seen in the first game.

Check out another PlayStation title coming next month, Marvel's Spider-Man 2.

Preorders are officially live, and the game releases later next month, though fans simply can’t wait to get stuck into the new title and see what it has in store for them.

Luckily, PlayStation has come in clutch with a brand-new free demo, which aims to give players a taste of what they can expect from the official release. It’ll take players through the game’s setting, the streets of Dharma Tower, and throw them into several platform and combat encounters to show off all the new techniques and abilities added to the game.

Speaking of abilities, the game’s cybernetic ninja protagonist, Jack, has plenty of new tricks up his robotic sleeves, all of which can be experimented with and mastered to demolish levels as quickly and efficiently as possible.

The new abilities include Shurikens, which can take down distant enemies and unlock certain doors, Tempest, a shockwave that can hit multiple enemies and deflect projectiles, Sensory Boost which slows time, and a Grapple which lets you swing like Spider-Man to reach new areas.

The game also boasts improved movement and combat mechanics, which do wonders for the flow of the game and will feel really rewarding once you master all the abilities.

This will definitely be a game you’ll want to try before launch day, as the developers are promising a truly evolved ghost-running experience and one that’s meant to be replayed as your skill improves.

Ghostrunner 2 launches on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on 26 October.
