If you want to check out five PlayStation games to download and play today without a PS Plus subscription, then you’re in the right place.

How many times have we looked forward to a big release, and spent our hard-earned money, only to be let down by absolute trash? Thankfully, we can reduce the chances of that happening by playing free demos before we buy, such as the ones currently available on PlayStation.

Check out the Metaphor: ReFantazio - Prologue trailer below!

You can of course check out a plethora of free playable demos on platforms such as PC, Xbox and Nintendo Switch, but today’s focus is all about PlayStation. There are simply too many demos to mention on the PlayStation Store, so I’ve hand-picked five fairly recent demos that might be worth your attention.

  • Rise of the Ronin: “Take up your blade as a masterless warrior and trial the first chapter of Rise of the Ronin. Your endeavours shall not be in vain – all progress will carry over to the full game should you continue your journey to help shape the future of a country divided.”
  • Disney Epic Mickey - Rebrushed: “Step into the fantastical world of Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed! Try the free demo now and get a glimpse of Mickey Mouse’s exciting adventure in this stunningly reimagined 3D platformer.”
  • Metaphor: ReFantazio - Prologue: “A unique fantasy world, where your protagonist will journey alongside his fairy companion, Gallica, to lift the curse from the kingdom’s lost prince. The Metaphor: ReFantazio - Prologue Demo allows users to play the opening section of the game, and any saved data will carry over to the full version of the game.”
  • Fae Farm: “Escape to the world of Fae Farm and create your own cosy home in the enchanted world of Azoria. As you nurture and grow your homestead, you'll get to meet charming characters, foster deep relationships and discover ways to infuse magic into everything you do.”
  • Crypt Custodian: “You play as Pluto, a mischievous cat who has just died, and landed in the afterlife's palace. After a brief and disastrous meeting with the Afterlife Guardian - Kendra- you're banished from the palace and sentenced to clean... FOREVER!”

So, there you have it, those are just five of the many playable demos that you can check out today for free without a PlayStation Plus subscription.
