PlayStation 6 update has fans concerned for console's launch lineup

What's up Sony's sleeve?

The next PlayStation console is already in the works with Sony, and while it’s far too soon in my opinion to jump to the next generation of console gaming it’s basically inevitable at this point.

According to insider knowledge, which we’re taking with a pinch of salt, the PlayStation 6 and the next Xbox console are both moving ahead, something fans aren’t best pleased with.

The reason for this discontent is the games, as it’s believed remakes like Horizon: Zero Dawn have been the only thing to really come from this current console generation

Of course we have had some new stuff like Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza In Hawaii and Doom: The Dark Ages coming out soon but we’ve had a lot of remasters/remakes, and fans haven’t forgotten that.

In a Reddit thread a story was shared from TechSpot that claimed Sony and AMD have nearly finalised the PlayStation 6 chip.

The comments sparked a discussion about how premature PlayStation 6 development feels as there have hardly been any new games for the PlayStation 5 before Sony decided to jump to the next big thing.

“IMO, I don't think we even got enough PS5 games. And they have some games that are still coming for PS5. We'll basically have another year of remakes/remasters to PS6…” read one fan’s thoughts.

Another argued that we don’t even need the upgrade by this point, saying “I just don't actually see the appeal of the hypothetical PS6 at this point in time. Hardware hasn't improved enough to justify it quite yet imo.”

That said others flagged that it’s been seven years since the PlayStation 5 first came out, so another console is due by this point based on previous generational gaps.

While this may be true, it still feels too soon as from a software perspective it hardly feels like the current generation made it off the ground.
