The PlayStation 5 is expected to be a powerhouse, and a major upgrade compared to its predecessor that’ll improve most games.

Now at the time of writing Sony has kept quiet about the PlayStation 5 Pro’s existence, opting to say nothing about the console despite claims that it’s due to release towards the end of the year.

This would make it the second revision of the PS5 so far, the first being the PlayStation 5 Slim

It’s likely an official reveal will take place during the Summer, potentially during an unannounced PlayStation showcase event or perhaps as part of Gamescom.

Of course that hasn’t stopped leakers from posting details about the console online, including its specs which seem to be pointing at it being an absolute beast of a gaming device.

New details from Digital Foundry suggest the PS5 Pro will have a base clock speed of 2.18GHz, which will be boosted up to 2.35GHz at times. It’s also said it’ll make ray tracing easier, as well as sharpen the image and performance of several PlayStation games, past and future.

For those who aren’t clued up on the latest technological jargon it’s basically saying the PS5 Pro will make all games play better, as well as increase the chance of experiencing gameplay similar to what high-end PCs can produce.

Fans will have to take this information with a grain or two of salt though, since as stated before Sony is yet to reveal any official details about the console.

Nevertheless it’s certain that it’ll be an improvement, otherwise there’d be no point in releasing another console, especially if it’s priced higher as many insiders believe.

Hopefully the next few months shed some more light on the console, and hopefully Summer yields an official reveal along with some footage of the next PlayStation in action.
