The PlayStation 5 has received another system update that’s brought some new features fans have been waiting for.

While I’d love to say the new update has finally delivered background themes for your console, I’m afraid Sony is yet to throw us a bone in that department, but the changes it has made are pretty good too.

Check out this awesome trailer for the new Like A Dragon game below!

The latest update has added a brand-new Welcome screen for your console, allowing quick-access to a few features as soon as you boot up the console.

This includes widgets that can lead you to parts of the console or apps, such as your controller battery level, friend list, etc.

You can customise which widgets you want to include based on which ones you use the most, and a Reddit thread has shared a guide on how to move them to the bottom of the welcome screen for easier access.

As the thread states, the current UI for the Welcome screen “only allows you to have a minimum of three (WIDGETS). To begin with, they're all locked to the left side, like Accessibility, Online Friends, and Messages here.. unless you do what I did to get all three of them on the bottom.”

The Reddit thread leads to a YouTube video including a voiceover of how to change it so all the widgets are on the bottom of the screen, and how to remove ones you don’t want/need.

For example, if you don’t have a PlayStation Plus subscription, you’re not going to need the widget leading to it in the PlayStation Store.

It’s a quick and simple change, and not one you have to make if you don’t want to, it’s just something you can do to make the UI look a little tidier if that’s more your style.

The latest PlayStation 5 update is a solid improvement, but man we still desperately need those background themes.
